Choosing a climate solution topic outlined by Project Drawdown, create an infographic to tell the story of the problem and possible solutions.
OVERVIEW
My passion for the ocean and conservation of marine life led me to the topic of reducing plastics. I wanted to highlight not just the visible consumer plastics we are all aware of, but also the less discussed issue of hard plastics from the fishing industry that collect in ocean gyres, far from land and out of sight for most people. While they both create the same issues, the different sources of consumer and fishing plastic mean different solutions are necessary, which was important to highlight, and to provide a visual distinction.
To tell the story in a way that did not leave the reader to feel overwhelmed and hopeless, it was also important to counterbalance the negative statistics with actionable solutions, highlighting alternative materials that could replace common plastics.
